Catskill is a 6-rowed winter barley cultivar developed by New York Agriculture Experiment Station's Neal F. Jensen in 1960. Strong straw holds aloft compact spikes that thresh easily by hand. Catskill demonstrates good winter hardiness and tolerates weed pressure to mature mid-season on our southeast Michigan homestead. It is known for its resistance to commonly occurring loose smuts and Rhyncosporium scald. Productive.
