(Zea mays); 87 day Corn
History: Rich Holman from Wisconsin was selecting for earliness and yield on this strain of Minnesota 13 Dent Corn. We plan to continue the same here in Michigan. It is written that this corn is desirable for making moonshine. The original Minnesota 13 was the name of an open pollinated corn variety developed by the University of Minnesota in the 1880's. Because of its shorter growing season, it was used in Stearns County. It is sometimes abbreviated as MN 13.
Planted on May 23 with a soil temperature at 68F. Harvest began on August 28th.
