100% Michigan Homestead Grown, 100% Open-Pollinated - Each & Every Seed


Three kinds of Hulless and Hulled oats were grown during the 2017 season.  I expanded the list in 2018.  The oats are hung in our barn, awaiting their turn on the threshing table.

As a crop, oats do not have as long of history in our diet as other grains.  I expect that until the 'hulless' variety came along they were too tough to dehull.  I like freshly rolled oats for breakfast with a bit of homemade maple syrup on top.

Even with some varieties being 'hulless', there is some preparation required for having breakfast described here.
