Chocolate Multiflora Bean
Unfortunately the rabbits loved this variety and the 2018 seed harvest was minimal. I am growing them again in 2019 in a different location with hopes of better results - wish me luck and please check back in the fall!
(Phaseolus coccineus); aka Chocolate Runner Bean; Heirloom; Pole bean; Dry bean; Minimum 15 seeds
Foodies enjoy multiflora beans as well-cooked shellys and dry beans. Chocolate's young, small pods (4-5 inches) are hearty fresh beans and its starchy tuberous roots are a delicacy. A tall, sturdy trellis is required for this vigorous climber. Its gorgeous bi-color red and rose blooms are irresistible to hummingbirds.
