Einkorn

(Triticum monococcum); aka Farro piccolo; Hulled; Spring or Winter

An ancient European grain, Einkorn means "one kernal" in German and references the fact that there is just one grain per hull. A culinary staple in Italy, the grain is one of the farros, specifically farro piccolo, due to its small size.

These seeds are still within their hulls.

This year, I am offering three lines of Einkorn:

1) Spring Planted - White hulls

in two packet sizes: a) 50 hand selected seeds or b) 10 grams

2) Fall Planted - White hulls

in two packet sizes: a) 50 hand selected seeds or b) 10 grams

3) Fall Planted - Dark Hulls

in two packet sizes: a) 50 hand selected seeds or b) 10 grams

Survival of the winter planted Einkorn in Michigan was less than 50%. However, those that made it, were very healthy.  I am hopeful that a few years of selection will improve the survival rate.
