(Pisum sativum); Heirloom; Climbing pea; Edible pod; Minimum 30 seeds
Unique in the mangetout (French for "eat all") class of peas for pods that are indeed golden, Golden Sweet Pea is a sweet delight both in the garden and in the kitchen. Productive vines reach 7 feet and are very ornamental mid-season when the translucent yellow pods complement the gorgeous two-tone purple flowers. Keep picked to enjoy crisp snowpeas for many weeks. Though we didn't try them this way, it is reported that they make good soup peas if the pods are allowed to dry on the vines.
