Goose Gullet Bean
(Phaseolus vulgaris); Heirloom; Bush bean; Dry bean; Minimum 20 seeds
First discovered in the gullet of a downed goose, the seeds of this dry bean sustained Acadians expelled from Canada's Bay of Fundy in 1755 while they lived with the Mi'kmaw while in hiding from the British. Robust bushes produce a profusion of fat pods that hold an average of 6 plump seeds per pod. One of the earlier maturing varieties this year. Looking forward to baking these!
