(Phaseolus vulgaris); aka Kabarika; Heirloom; Bush bean; Dry bean; Minimum 20 seeds
Simply gorgeous, the dry Kebarika beans are a perfect "upscale" to the kidney bean, creamy, nutty and substantial as cooked beans. With origins in Kenya, this bush bean thrived in our northern garden without much attention from us during the growing season. We were amazed at the number of pods per plant in the fall. They were quite satisfying to shell as each long slender pod cracked apart to reveal at least 6 jewel-like beans. Excellent producer for us. Added to our "must-grow" list.
