Reade Krobbe Bean
(Phaseolus vulgaris); Heirloom; aka Krûpke; a Slow Food Ark of Taste variety; Bush bean; Dry bean; Minimum 20 seeds
Reade Krobbe an heirloom from the Friesland region of the Netherlands, provided hardy sustenance to laborers in days past. Cherished as a dry bean for its spicy flavor, it keeps its shape when cooked. This "little red one" is reportedly high in antioxidants, a trait associated with its red coloring. Hearty plants thrived despite a less than ideal summer. Definitely a keeper for my pantry!
