(Phaseolus vulgaris); Heirloom; Landrace; Bush bean with runners; Dry bean; 90 days to dry harvest; Minimum 30 seeds
This Ugandan landrace variety from the Bantu homeland is extremely productive in our Michigan garden. The genetic mix of color and shapes is thought to represent the rich Bantu landscape and the farmers' belief that diversity increases resilience to the environmental changes challenging their fields. Support is required for the trailing runners. The dry beans are not only delightful visually, but hearty and tasty when cooked.
