Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus
Yes, I am aware of Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) that affects both tomatoes and peppers and that a reputable seed company had an unfortunate experience in the spring of 2023 with some of their tomato varieties. To date, from my reading, it appears this virus is a concern for the industrial scale greenhouse facilities. I do not source my seeds from such producers. All my crops are field grown. Plants are under constant scrutiny as I tend to them myself. November 2019 saw the USDA place restrictions on imports of tomato seed to reduce the risk of transmission; given this and the recent unfortunate events with a domestic seed company, I am not comfortable with shipping tomato and pepper seeds beyond the borders of the United States. While you are able to put tomato and pepper seeds in your cart, if you do not live in the United States, you cannot complete your transaction. I apologize for any inconvenience but I hope you understand that the significant consequences this virus poses to growers everywhere motivates my decision.
