From ProSpecieRara Altgold Spelt is an old Swiss cultivar first listed in 1952. We originally sourced Altgold from Vermont Seed Steward Sylvia Davatz, retired founder/owner of Solstice Seeds. Long grain heads are held aloft on tillers that reach 5 feet. Upright plants are relatively compact despite their height.
