Bjela Turka Durum wheat is facultative, meaning it thrives with both winter and spring sowing but this line is fall-planted on our southeast Michigan homestead. A heritage landrace, Bjela Turka was initially collected in 1911 in southwestern Siberia's Chistunka. Strong straw resists lodging.
