Yukimochi Rice

Yukimochi is a short grain, lowland variety from Northern Japan. It is a sticky sweet rice that makes great fried rice if pearled (bran removed). The grains are awned and the bran is milky white. It has a modest yield of 4 - 5 pounds per 100 square foot bed. It matures 110 days from transplanting. I grew this under upland conditions with good results.
