Frog Island Nation Fava Bean
(Vicia faba); Minimum 20 seeds
A versatile protein source, rich in essential vitamins and minerals, fava beans, also known as broad beans or bell beans, are an ancient crop thought first added to the Mediterranean diet prior to 6000 BC. Frog Island Nation is thought to have been collected in Guatemala by Ianto Evans and was a part of the Abundant Life Seed collection.
Favas prefer cooler conditions so are best planted when one sows peas. Plants are tall and benefited from some support to keep them from lodging. Their fat pods hold an average of 3-4 beans.
