We obtained our seed from a Wisconsin seed saver who lovingly stewarded the cultivar for over a decade. Originally the line was collected in Shandong China in 1991. Zou Xian Song Mang Da Mai Barley demonstrates excellent winter hardiness in our southeast Michigan gardens. Hull-less kernels thresh free from their unique hooded spikes.

Zou Xian Xong Mang Da Mai is consistently one of our earliest cultivars harvested.
