Abyssinian Winter Barley
Abyssinian Winter Barley is a 2-rowed, black hulled, awned cultivar originally developed in California by the USDA in the mid 1910s. Its protein content is 15%. Plants tiller impressively.
Abyssinian Winter Barley suffered heavy lodging for us in 2021 but we had a very wet and windy June. It's so beautiful and not every plant lodged. Next season I will try increasing the spacing to see if that helps.
