Bambara Beans

Bambara is an African legume ( Vigna subterranea ), that produces the beans below the ground in pods, similar to peanuts. The seeds are very hard when dried like dry beans. This is a very diverse mix of sizes and colors. If you live in the North, I would recommend starting these early as transplants and then setting them out after the last frost has passed. Spacing should be about 1 foot apart. Bambara Beans are drought tolerant and do not like wet soils. Harvest before the last frost, or when the plants begin to die back.
I obtained my original seed from Ghana in 2023.
