(Citrullus lanatus var. citroides); Heritage - Centennial; Minimum 20 seeds

Citron melons originate in Africa and D'Espagne a Confiture Citron Melon is a variety that moved north to France where it became an heirloom. Its medium sized fruits are white-fleshed and red-seeded. As its name implies (Confiture) this variety is more commonly pickled or used to make fruit preserves due to its high pectin content. Seeds are delicious roasted. It's also an excellent fodder melon.

Grown like regular watermelons, this citron melon trellises well and thrives in less-than-ideal conditions.
