Emmer was one of the first crops to be domesticated in the Near East.  It was widely cultivated in the ancient world. On a homestead scale, the hull is difficult to remove.  Highly ornamental, many people grow emmer for decorative use.  This multi-generational line has been selected for hulls that are black in color, though it is important to note that hull color is greatly influenced by soil and weather conditions.

Please use the drop-down menu to select between packet sizes, minimum:

    a) 50 hand selected seeds (in hulls)
    b) 5 grams (in hulls)

On our homestead, we have yet to master a method for consistently crack emmer's hulls to making flour.

For reference, 100 seeds with hulls weighs around 3.5 grams.
