"Medium early, hardy, high yielding, heavy test weight winter barley. Short, vigorous plant type. Short compact heads on strong straw. Six-rowed with rough awns. Kernels blue. Feed type. Resistant to scald and mildew. Moderately susceptible to loose smut. Adapted to northern barley growing areas due to greater winterhardiness. Average yield was 54.6 bushels/ acre verses 41.7 for Wong in 7 year test."
