Developed in 1914 at Michigan State by Frank A. Sprague, this 6-rowed barley has a 15.5% protein content. As its name implies, this cultivar demonstrates excellent winter hardiness, Mid-summer's harvest of gorgeous, well-filled spikes thresh easily by hand.
