Mushroom popcorn is named for the distinctive wrinkly round shape its kernels take upon popping that conjures an image of a plump mushroom cap. This unique shape makes it a perfect cultivar for caramel corn and other flavored kettle corns. New York Amish Mushroom popcorn's large yellow kernels, mature on long ears in 100-105 days on our southeast Michigan homestead.
Popcorn is dual use in that you can also grind its hard kernels for cornmeal.
(Scott is currently experimenting with the best popping method and will share what he learns.)
