Storing the biennial beets for the Spring Grow Out!

Scott H.

The last of the beets have been sorted and the very best packed in wood shavings in the root cellar.   I have healthy samples of Mammoth Red, Eckendorf Giant and Zendaur Fodder.  In the Spring, I'll have to make a choice as to which to grow out.  Any recommendations?

  • Thanks for the idea, I’ll investigate. Beets being wind pollinated, it might be tricky to keep the pollen out. Scott

  • You might be able to grow em all out with row cover!
