Black Don is a durum landrace wheat collected in Rostovskaja oblast', Russian Federation in 1900 by Mark Carleton of the USDA's Bureau of Plant Industry. Dense oblong spikes thresh easily. Botanically facultative, this is our fall-planted line. Black Don demonstrates good winter hardiness and is one of our more productive durums.
