(Hordeum vulgare var. nudum); 6-rowed; Awned; Hull-less; a variety from The Kusa Seed Society Collection
An exceptionally rare food barley from Japan, Dango Mugi is unique in that its golden brown grains are glutinous. Glorious 6-rowed awned heads top the numerous tillers of this hearty variety. Robust plants are very prolific in our southeast Michigan gardens, with spikes that ripen all at the same time. Traditionally spring planted.
