Originally brought to Russia in the late 1800s from Hungary, Ukrainka was described by Nikolai Vavilov as “distinguished by high productivity, excellent baking quality and broad adaptability." We sourced our original seed stock from Indiana seedsman John Sherck. Now a multigenerational line grown on our southeast Michigan homestead, Ukrainka never fails to impress.
