'Pete' Eastern Gamagrass

Okay, so why are we offering this perennial? Self-reliant homesteads typically include livestock which like all living creatures need to eat. As it is a "someday dream" of mine to welcome a team of oxen to our family, several years ago I decided it was worth investigating perennial pasture crops. A distant relative of corn, Eastern Gamagrass is a highly productive forage crop used for pasture, hay, and silage.

Released in 1988, 'Pete' was developed from successive harvests of a composite of 70 native populations.
