(Phaseolus vulgaris); Heritage; an Indiana Connection variety; Pole bean; Multi-use wax snap, shelly, and dry; Minimum 20 seeds
Annabelle Kelley of Waldron, Indiana shared this bean with fellow gardener Ann Fox who introduced it to the seed saving community in 1994. Annabelle was a steward of the bean since at least the 1920s. A strong climber, white flowers develop into wide curved pods that yellow with maturity. Tender and of a subtle flavor, the fresh pods have a moderate suture string. Dry beans are creamy smooth and flavorful.
