(Zea mays); 90 days; flour corn

Antioxidant anthocyanins are responisible for the stunning deep purple kernel color of Montana Morado Flour Corn that enhance this flour corn's nutritional value. Over 30 years in development by Montana corn breeder Dave Christensen, it is derived from selections of North American heirlooms. Relatively short in stature (5'-6'), plants are early maturing in their long slender 8-row ears. As a flour corn, Montana Morado is well-suited for cornbread, tortillas, polenta, and traditional indigenous beverages such as chicha morado.

We are pleased to offer this flour corn for northern, short-season growers.
