OAC Wintri, the first winter triticale licensed in Canada, was developed by University of Guelph's C.J. Knoblauch and released in 1980. Productive winter hardy plants tiller impressively. Strong tall straw holds aloft long graceful awned spikes that thresh easily by hand.
