Originating in Japan, Shichigatsu Mame's glossy black dry beans have a protein content of 41.7 % protein with 21% oil. Rich in antioxidants, they are a good source of vitamin E.
Impressively robust productive plants are determinate (uniform in pod maturity), and reach a height of 3 feet. Direct seeded in early June, when soil temperature is consistently 60°F or above, pods mature on the late end of our varieties, at the 110ish day mark. A decent portion of the pods are 3-seeded.
