(Triticum aestivum); Heritage; Soft Red Winter; an Ohio Connection variety; Awned; Fall-planted; Minimum 50 seeds
Developed in 1947 by Ohio State University's C.A. Lamb, Butler is a high yielding, stiff strawed soft red winter wheat. A winter hardy cultivar, it demonstrates good resistance to loose smut and is only mildly affected by scab. Butler's oblong spikes of medium density resist shattering. Robust plants tiller vigorously and tolerate weed pressure.
