Red May has a history rich in synonyms and is believed to be descended from or is identical to seventeenth century Red or Yellow Lammas. Originally collected in Indiana by Purdue University and donated to the USDA in 1917, our seed stock was sourced from the folks at Tillers International in Kalamazoo. Robust and reliable, Red May is a multi-generational line grown on our southeast Michigan homestead.
