(Helianthus annuus); 7.5 grams (approximately 100 seeds)
Our oilseed sunflowers are selected for robust and productive plants with seed heads yielding plump seeds. I select for 'single head' and cut to use the pretty multi-head stems for decorations.
Our rows are 2 ft apart with seeds sprinkled about every 6 inches. Once the plants were several inches tall, we thinned to the most robust every 12 to 18 inches.
We've been letting our Rostov and Peredovik sunflowers mix as the bee saw fit to do... The result is this grex from our homestead.
