(Triticum aestivum); Heritage; Landrace; Facultative - fall planted; Minimum 25 seeds
A landrace originally sourced from a preservationist in Czech Republic, our stock seed came from John Sherck who trialed Cervena on his northern Indiana homestead. Plants reach 4 feet and resist lodging. Cervena is typically used for cooked grains or milled for flour for cakes and flat breads. Its kernels are high in anthocyanins, characterized by their reddish purple color.
Cervena is a facultative cultivar - this is a fall-planted line.
