Black African Grain Sorghum (Milo)

(Sorghum bicolor); Minimum 50 seeds

This milo type sorghum is an early grain sorghum like Ba Yi Qi but it has very shiny black seeds.  Grown in our driest sandy soil and rarely watered, we were pleased with the abundant harvest.

A sorghum cultivar grown primarily for its grains is a milo. This distinction is to avoid confusion with cane sorghum that's grown to make syrup. In addition to its grains for human consumption, the grains of Black African Grain Sorghum are commonly used as a feed crop and its stalks make a good silage.
