(Vigna mungo); Heirloom; Dwarf bush; Dry bean; Minimum 30 seeds
When we first grew Kali Black Gram it was a means to increase diversity of our plant-based pantry-friendly protein sources. Now, we have a multi-generation homestead grown seed stock that reliably produces an abundance of the tiny nutritional powerhouses in their cute furry pods. Prolific and low-maintenance, upright plants allow for close spacing.
Gram beans are used like red lentils in Indian and Nepalese cuisine. They are also good sprouted.
We enjoy them in Bindaeduk Cho Kanjang - Korean Pancakes featuring Mung Beans
Our original seeds trace back to Bhaktapur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal by way of Anpetu Oihankesni in Colorado and Adaptive Seeds in Oregon.
