(Triticum turgidum.dicoccon); Hulled; Fall-planted
Emmer was one of the first crops to be domesticated in the Near East. It was widely cultivated in the ancient world. On a homestead scale, the hull is difficult to remove. Highly ornamental, many people grow emmer for decorative use. This is our multi-generational fall-planted Emmer line selected on our southeast Michigan homestead as a mix of hull colors.
