Melonette Jaspée de Vendée is a heritage pumpkin originally cultivated in 1700s France. Trailing vines trellis well, producing an average of 5 to 7 fruits per plant. Fruits that reach six pounds are unique in that their rind develops a fine netting like a melon. Orange flesh is thick and sweet, delicious in soup, puddings, and pies. Stored in a cool, dry location, Melonette Jaspée de Vendée is known as an excellent keeper, we've had fruits last throug mid-February.
