(Hordeum vulgare); 6-rowed; Feed type; Hulled; Awned; Fall-planted; Minimum 50 seeds
Callao is an early maturing 6-rowed winter cultivar developed in 1994 with an exceptional grain volume yield. Typically grown as a feed barley, its short plants (~33 inches) have good winter hardiness. Semi-compact spikes hold kernels that are very plump. Callao is resistant to powdery mildew, barley yellow dwarf, and leaf rust.
