(Phaseolus vulgaris); an Illinois Connection variety; Pole bean; Dry bean; Minimum 20 seeds
Bean enthusiast Russ Crow has stewarded this variety since its 1979 discovery in one of his many bean gardens. A productive pole variety, it gained their name due to his liking of the story of Mostoller Wild Goose bean and for his wanting to get into the "wild goose naming business at least one time." These beans are included in our inventory in tribute to Russ and because our American Buff Goose herd though they challenge us like toddlers would, they do bring me joy. And yes, I know, technically a group of geese is a flock, but ours are a herd!
