Rostov is a Russian sunflower variety typically grown for its tasty seeds. On our southeast Michigan homestead, Rostov's heads average 10 inches in diameter on stalks around 6 feet tall. Be prepared though to protect seedlings from rabbits and deer and the mature seed heads from birds.
