This is a soft white winter cultivar developed and released in 2014 under the Open Source Seed Initiative Pledge by Mark E. Sorrells of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics at Cornell University. With excellent milling and baking qualities, Saranac is awnless with white chaff. Plants reach 2.5 ft to flower the first week of June.
Known resistant to Wheat Spindle Streak Mosaic Virus and Wheat Soil Borne Mosaic Virus
Moderately resistant to powdery mildew.
