(Triticum aestivum); Spring wheat;
I plant Serra Wheat in the Spring. It produces a hard, red kernel. Originally released by the California Agricultural Experiment Station in 1988, Serra could be fall planting in the large temperate valleys of California. I have not tried planting in the colder weather here in Michigan. Serra is another genetic-dwarf so has excellent lodging resistance.
