(Psophocarpus tetragonolobus); Climbing; Minimum 15 seeds
A variety of tropical origins, winged beans are culinary staples in Asian kitchens as all parts of the plant are edible. We first experienced this wonderful bean as expats on holiday to Hainan Island - freshly sautéed with hints of garlic and it was love at first bite. After several attempts at growing supposed day-length neutral seeds to no blossoms, I am quite excited to finally have pods mature for viable seed.
Seeds are hard-coated and benefit from a small nick opposite the hilum and then an overnight soak to assist moisture absorption to aid in germination. Vines are vigorous.
