Mettes Rauhwizen is a durum cultivar originally collected in the Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen) region of Germany and donated to the USDA in 1950. This durum demonstrates good winter hardiness, thriving on our southeast Michigan homestead. Grain heavy spikes thresh easily and yield well.
