Bacska Wheat

(Triticum aestivum); aka Wisconsin Pedigree No. 408; Heritage - Centennial; Hard Red Winter; a Wisconsin Connection cultivar; Minimum 50 seeds

Bacska wheat originated in Budapest, Austria-Hungary, and was introduced to American farmers by the United States Department of Agriculture in 1900. E.J. Delwiche at the Ashland Branch of the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station developed the widely distributed pure-line selection from the original strain. Bacska has milling and baking values equivalent to Turkey Red and was the highest-yielding wheat in northern Wisconsin in 1929. Its heads have long beaks and its kernels are slightly larger and more soft than Turkey Red. Threshes by hand very cleanly!

Limited quantity - only 1 pack per person. I will only ship one pack and will refund the additional packs. Why the limit? To allow as many growers as possible to enjoy this cultivar.
