Makha Wheat

Macha (Makha) wheat is in its own botanical group, distinct from common wheat with a rich and extensive history in the Caucasus region, specifically the Republic of Georgia where it was widely grown until the 1930s when it was displaced by "modern" cultivars. Its kernels do not easily thresh free from their spikelets but are reportedly easier to de-hull than einkorn or emmer.
