Direct seeded on June 3rd, by July 17th we were grilling zukes that averaged 8 inches, making Costata Romanesco our earliest fruit bearing squash. And yes, I know in the past I resisted growing zucchini but at Scott's request these were included in our 2022 growout and in all honesty, I am very pleased I reconsidered! Nutty-sweet with a substantial non-mushy / not watery texture, Costata Romanesco is an absolute "grow again" variety. Productive vines do sprawl some but less than 6 feet. Versatile fruits are best young but amazingly they maintain their quality as they get large as well.
